What is the difference between Gibson and a Gibson Epiphone?  Both have Les Paul Junior editions.

Ephiphone was a major Guitar Company purchased by Gibson in 1957.  They offer more cost-effective Juniors which feature a bolt-on neck and have a single humbucking pickup rather than the traditional p-90 pick up.  They have released many variations under the Epiphone line.  Most have come to terms with the Epiphone brand being a the same company with a few less "bells and whistles" so to speak.
