1955 Gibson Les Paul Jr being played on a homemade amp.  That guitar is in great condition!

Here is a 1961 Gibson SG Junior.  This was the model that came out of a disagreement between Gibson and Les Paul.  Pretty funny commentary, but it sounds amazing!

Here is one of the 2007 Gibson Les Paul Jr re-edition.  It actually looks/sounds pretty well, but there isn't anything like the Vintage.  If you can afford it, GO VINTAGE!  This is still the one pick-up edition, so it isn't the "special".

Here is a decent sounding video.  Looks like a new Gibson Les Paul Jr but I can't tell and he doesn't say!
